“I think the people hoping for a lesbian princess need to be reminded that Disney movies are aimed at kids. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being gay, but to push the idea at kids before they understand what that means will only confuse them. Also as a parent, I would be pissed at Disney for addressing such controversial topics in a movie intended for children”.

Your kids won’t be confused if you take fifteen minutes of your life to explain them there is more than one kind of relationship in this wide world. In fact, children are usually less shocked by this than adults 90% of times. But you know who was confused? Me, until I was thirteen, because I liked girls but I had never seen, even once, something of the sort in books, songs or tv. So I grew up thinking I was some kind of freak until the day I heard the word ‘lesbian’ and I looked it up in a dictionary and spent the next hour crying because there were, apparently, more people like me.If I had grown up with a movie or a book aimed to children that showed to me that it was a normal thing, it would have saved me and many children the suffering of growing up thinking you are sick, or weird or wrong. So if you want your children not to be confused, talk to them, because that is your job as a mother, the same is Disney’s job as a worldwide company to try to appeal to all kinds of children.
